The book penetrates the core substance of an organization – the people. It shifts the focus beyond classic resource categories such as budget and headcount to a more human & technology centric management. This is exactly the novelty and strength of this book. The traditional management practices, mostly born during the industry age are checked for the digital age. With distance, wisdom, competence, examples, life and professional experience he points out the obvious dysfunctions of mechanical systems for digital innovation and provides a compass and a map towards the new age of organizations. I personally liked the content density and quantity of different management practices. The practical value lies within these management practices, which invite for an application in the daily management for a new and empathic leadership for better results.

Liberated companies is a fresh look at new organizational structures and behaviors. Frank Thun developed a map for the liberated company that helps to analyse and develop your own company. I like very much the huge background knowledge, the tables/diagrammes that make aspects more clearer and the connection to the practise of different companies.
As an sociocratic expert I like correct page285 and say, that you don’t generally with a big bang (this is more holacracy style), but more with an step-by-step-process.
I can recommend a reading of this genuine approach to broaden your mind and get lots of inspiration for your „liberation“.
